Survivor: A Closer Look (or How to Not Call a Rerun a Rerun)

Quiet week on the Islands as there was no tribal council. The fate of the next to go is held until next week.

Probably a nod to the artist formerly known as America's Pastime (the World Series was on last night). C'mon though, who really cares about the Cardinals? Geez.

This was a chance to catch our breath and get caught up on the votes of the Cook Islands season. We also got a little bit of new footage that at least kept us hanging around through all the commercials.

The Dunder Twins, Adam and Candice, nearly freezing out in the water (while the rest of the tribe was living warm and easy on the beach)
Stephannie gracing us all with a very nice voice by the fireside.
Stephannie also getting very faded on a little tiny bit of wine - good times. Turns out the feud between Christina, Jenny and Adam ran a little deeper than we were led to believe.

Otherwise, the game moves ever onward towards one eventual survivor. Of course though, we still had plenty to say.

Asianflow, Thanks for "poppin".

You're not the only one that thinks this season is a boring one. I for one find it pretty anticlimactic. And, as we've been crabbing about for awhile now on the show, it's too damn easy! Let's hope for a tougher season the next time around.

The crew... hmmm... well if you listen to the Bio's Podcast that should give you an idea about how I ended up here with these other jokers.

Truth is, I think we all have the same father but our mothers would never admit it. I swear that Clay was dropped on his head though.

See you next time!

I just popped in to say I really enjoy the podcast.

Am I the only person that finds this season to be pretty boring so far?

BTW I would like to know more about the cast of Buffs Off. What's the relationship between the cast? Co-workers, friends, family, etc...?

Keep up the good work.

Dissapointing episode, especially I imagine being all cooped up in a bunker, just living for chance to dissect the latest Survivor escapades. But alas, repeat city prevails, and we will all have to honker down for another anxious week of speculation. After Tivo'ing last episode, I tend to agree JT brought the whole "package" to the island, and on closer examination, seemed to be flaunting it. Good eye, Christmas, missed it, probally cause I gaze at Parvoti, not Dudes crotches...Interestingly, on Parvoti's profile on Survivor website, she is a waitress and boxer, enjoying martial arts. Go figure..... AS for the Villain? Jonathan seems logical choice, but Nate should have problems with the old tribe switcheroo. Stay hydrated out in that hot Cook Island sun, and keep plenty of beers in the fridge!.....

Thanks, Christmas, for the shout out on the last show. I quite enjoyed the sexed up way it was done.

I am going to pick out a villain right now based solely on the fact that I despise this person, not that I think he's shady yet. That would be Yul, with his golly shucks, I will let some piece of ass make all my decisions for me, tell me who I should be wary of, and most of all because of that smug way he always seems to look on camera. "I not worried cuz I have the idol." Jerk off. I also must say that I disagree with the consensus that Rollergirl won't last too long. She seems to be fading to the back, in light of the preview of next week. Given the right circumstances, She and Ozzie could, if they are smart enough, expose the secret alliance between Adam-Poverty-Candyass and maybe try to work Nate during his kidnapping with an eye on the merge. Just get Nate and the Sistas and run the rest of those dopes out. But I dont know if they have that kind of strategic thinking within thier realm of capabilities.

Raro is a doomed tribe in my opinion and to that effect we may see the second season to not have a traditional merge (not since Palau), if this tribe goes the way the are going right now. Interesting to note that since the All Star break, the winner of the game has come from the tribe without the numbers in two of the four seasons (Chris from the decimated Lopevi tribe on Vanuatu and Danni from the original Nakum tribe before she was switched on Guatemala, Tom didn't have a merge and Aras' Casaya tribe did the smart thing and took out every La Mina member except Terry until the final three.-Also just as interesting the seasons with Chris and Danni were seasons 9 and 11, and we are on 13. Pattern maybe? Nate might just win this thing after all since he is the one who figured out quickly that this is an individual game once you step onto that plane that takes you to that undisclosed location).

Once again I am impressed with the insight and I look forward to next week's show, and to Christmas a very special see you later tonight.

Great show once again, everybody!

Christmas, can't believe you missed the gun on the cop's parchment. Jenny was wrong to draw the gun, but it was the Probster who decided to play that particular slip for the violin-string moment of reveal. Then, cbs showed the gun ballot again, as the representative vote of who left in the recap.

Great show- I really freaking enjoy it. When I'm looking for a shady take on Survivor, your show is the tent pole burning in the hot sun.
